Feast upon Christ

With a new year comes new challenges and goals.  I know many Christians will commit to reading their Bible this year.  Some will attempt to read the Bible through in one year.  Some will began devotions for the first time.  Some will read for the sake of reading.  All of this is good. We need to be in the Word.  And we have this promise from the book of Isaiah:

My word that goes out from my mouth:
   It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
   and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11

Do you want your reading to go further?  Would you like to experience the Lord Jesus Christ?  We can read and miss Christ all together.  It is possible to go through the motions and read the Bible as we would read any other book.  Don't make this mistake.

You search the Scriptures,
for in them you think you have eternal life;
and these are they which testify of Me.  John 5:39

       It takes a conscience effort to engage with the Person who spoke the words.  Is not that the goal of reading the Bible-to receive the very person of Christ into your life?  To sit in Christ presence and have Him speak truth into your soul.  To feast upon Him! Scripture says to "taste and see" that the Lord is good.  To come to the place of spilling over with Christ Himself!

My friend as you read, do not miss the Person who spoke the words.  Open your heart and allow His love to overfill you.  Enjoy Him through His word this day.  To Him be the glory and power forever-Amen!
