Does It Matter?

You reap what you sow, more than you sow, and later than you sow.  This principle is true for positive godly influences in our lives as well as negative sinful practices thoughts, and behaviors.  We play with sin and think it will not effect us.  Scripture teaches it is more profitable for a person to lose a body part then to bear the eternal consequences of sin. Matthew 5:29

What we watch on television, what we listen to on the radio, the books we read, and the people we hang out with all make a difference in our daily live.  We think a little bit of compromise will not matter.  Let me leave you with an analogy of making a delicious chocolate cake.

You have all the ingredients ready cake mix, eggs, oil, water.  The perfect measuring utensils  The oven is preheated and the pans are greased.  You are so excited because this is going to be the perfect chocolate cake.  But what would happen if you added one drop of fecal material to this cake mix.  I am not talking about a spoonful, just a little drop.  "It's not much really, will it really hurt?" Would you still be all excited about eating it?  I don't think so...just a little stool added to our cake mix would make us physically sick.

Graphic analogy yes, but we need to consider this when we play with sin in our daily lives it will take you farther than you desire to go and will keep you there longer than you planned.  We need to be radical with the sin in our life.  We need to live purposely as Daniel did.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8

Take sin seriously today, my friend!
