A Leopard and His Spots

Change is not an easy process and most of us humans are resistant to change. We have our personal opinions, we have agendas, and we fight for our rights.  Have you witnessed how a person responds when they are confronted with the truth or an opinion that is different than theirs?  The walls of protection are instantly in place or the boxing gloves are quickly put on.  The erection of these walls and gloves are second nature to us.  We speak without thinking or understanding the meaning behind our words. We walk in darkness and Scripture says, "Man loves darkness more than the light."

I would agree with the statement, "A leopard cannot change His spots" but I know a God who can!  Friend are you discovering you are in need of a change in your life? Are people beginning to challenge your words and motives?  Do you find yourself in turmoil and conflict with others?  Praise God if this is the case for that very conflict proves He is working in your heart and mind.  That conflict proves His great love for you.  He loves you to much to leave you to your own opinions and reactions.  Jesus came to bring change to mankind.  Jesus lived, died, and rose from the grave to change you!

This change only comes through God opening your eyes and working in your heart.  Again if you are feeling the conflict, be assured He is beginning His work.  As believers we must come to God with our hands and hearts open for the change.  Surrendering your thoughts, ideas, and opinions to Him will be the biggest battle you will face.  If you are willing to come before Him with open hands and heart, He will begin the work of change in your life.  So are you ready?? 

We can gleam inside and direction from the Scriptures about change. Paul lists several prayers in which he prayed for other believers.  We can pray these same prayers for our self.  Friend and loved one, I beg you to make these prayers I have listed below your own.  It is God who does the work of change.  He will honor His word and work in your life and heart.  He may not change your situation immediately but He will change your "spots".  When our "spots" are changed we will respond correctly to our situation.  Again pray these prayers from your heart and make them your own.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.  Ephesians 1:17-21

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[a] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you[b] to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:9-14
